Note on Company Registration

If you plan to operate Pace of Democracy commercially in Denmark, you will need to register a business entity. Options include:

  • Enkeltmandsvirksomhed (Sole Proprietorship): Simplest form, no minimum capital. Register via virk.dk. Personal liability.
  • ApS (Anpartsselskab / Private Limited Company): Minimum capital DKK 40,000. Limited liability. Recommended for platforms with user data.
  • IVS (Iværksætterselskab): Note: IVS company type was discontinued in 2021. ApS is the current equivalent.

Recommendation: For a platform handling personal user data, an ApS provides limited liability protection and is the standard choice for Danish tech startups. Register at virk.dk.

You must also register data processing activities with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) if required by GDPR.
